Was given a client whose existing brand was flawed and or ill-defined. I researched the client, diagnosed the problems with their current branding and began the process of rebranding. After rebranding and designing an identity mark, I considered how it should be used in order to build a brand. I created a set of brand guidelines which codify the rules for the clients visual identity. They establish the proper usage of the logo, typefaces, color palette, and supporting visual elements. I then created a set of brand extensions which provide examples of what the brand looks like when applied.
First to start this design process I Identified the reasons and objectives behind the re-brand. This included conducting market research to understand the target audience, competitors, industry trends, and customer preferences. I also analyzed the current brand perception and gathered what information I could from exploring their website.
Based on the research and brand strategies, I generated multiple design concepts that capture the essence of the new brand. These concepts included new logos, typography, color palettes, imagery, and overall visual identity. I took into consideration the practicality of implementing the designs across different items, such as packaging, signage, marketing materials, and social media.
Once the concept was selected, further development for the brand identity happened by refining the chosen logo, typography, color schemes, and supporting visuals. I created a set of guidelines to ensure consistency in the application of the new brand across all platforms. I wanted to make sure attention to details such as logo variations, usage guidelines, and brand voice are cohesive.
Attached is a PDF of the brand guidelines I have created for CubCrafters. Lists the usage for type, color, photos, logos and more.
