Young Elder Design Co. 

Young Elder Design Co. is a small business I founded to combine my passion for handmade craft goods and my skills in design. Specializing in custom products, I create unique, high-quality pieces that reflect both my personal style and my cultural heritage. I provide everything from jewelry to customized designed products. The business started as a side hustle while I pursued self-employment and honed my freelance design career.  Starting Young Elder Design Co. has allowed me to explore a different side of design—one that merges creativity with entrepreneurship.

From the beginning, I designed everything for the brand, including the custom logo, product packaging, and even the Instagram page where I promote and connect with customers. I’ve taken a hands-on approach in every aspect of the business, and it's been a rewarding challenge to build everything from the ground up. Participating in local markets and powwows has been an essential part of my business's growth, and I've been fortunate to see early success with just a handful of events under my belt. Each market has been an opportunity to engage directly with my community, showcase my products, and refine my approach to selling and branding.

This experience has not only helped me grow as a designer, but it’s also been an invaluable exercise in creating a business model and marketing strategy. It's exciting to see my vision come to life in a tangible way, and I’m looking forward to continuing this journey, expanding my offerings, and reaching new customers.
