This poster I have created for the Snohomish Farmers Market call for art showcases hand-drawn, logo-inspired illustrations paired with a thoughtfully chosen color palette. My goal was to capture the essence of the market, highlighting its offerings while evoking a bright, summery atmosphere for the viewer. The font I selected is playful and whimsical, yet still highly readable, emphasizing the exciting milestone of the market celebrating its 35th season in 2025. With the diverse range of goods available at the market, I believe the design effectively conveys this variety, clearly communicating the event to the audience and the excitement surrounding the special anniversary.
I was not chosen as the finalist for the poster for the seasonal event but I am honored to have had the opportunity to create artwork to contribute to this portfolio. This gave me an opportunity to showcase a new style of artwork and to participate in creating something for a new client. I hope this design can show future clients my skill sets that I have as a graphic designer.
I started with sketches of all of the elements I wanted to include to represent what you can find at the farmers market. I then went back and fine tuned them to be as simple as possible and representing an 'icon' style. I wanted for them to be flat and closely similar to each other. I then went back and researched a color pallete that I could use to represent spring/summer. I moved the pieces around until the poster felt balanced. I wanted to make sure the font I chose as well fit the style of the existing elements on the poster. All of the vectors were originally handrawn by myself then imported into illustrator to fine tune. I then used InDesign to structure the poster in its final printable form.
