This design was created for a competition hosted by Oditi.com, where participants were invited to design merchandise for the globally renowned musician LP, inspired by their hit song "Lost on You." While I wasn’t selected as the winner, the opportunity to refine my design skills and challenge myself creatively was invaluable. The brief required a t-shirt design that visually encapsulated the essence of the song, with the added challenge of ensuring it was suitable for global merchandise.
I approached the project by focusing on the deep emotional themes in "Lost on You," such as introspection, transformation, and resilience. My design drew inspiration from LP’s aesthetic and the symbolic imagery of nature, using bold digital artwork to evoke feelings of growth and change. I showcased the design on a t-shirt mockup to help visualize how it could be brought to life and resonate with fans worldwide, considering how the final product would look when worn. Though I didn't win, the experience allowed me to push my boundaries, hone my skills in digital illustration, and learn more about the intersection of art, branding, and merchandise design.
I approached the design with the intention of merging digital art with organic imagery, incorporating elements that would speak to the song's emotional depth. The final artwork reflects the powerful connection between music and visual storytelling, incorporating personal symbols of transformation and resilience, inspired by LP's aesthetic and the natural elements seen in their album covers and concerts. By showcasing the design on a t-shirt mockup, I ensured that it would be both visually striking and suitable for production, offering fans a tangible connection to the music they love. The result is a bold, meaningful design that ties directly to the heart of LP's "Lost on You," making it a piece fans can proudly wear while celebrating the song’s themes.
